Piano
Chessa Chauncey
Schedule: Tue – Thu
Chessa was fortunate to get to perform and study in southern Germany last year while attending a summer school program specializing in Romantic German art song. This summer, she will also be in attendance of another summer program in Bosnia, where she will accompany instrumental chamber musicians.
Getting the experience of working with both vocalists and instrumentalists is important for the well-rounded pianist. Furthermore, piano collaboration has always been one of the best parts of Chessa’s journey as a musician, and she looks forward to continuing further.
In terms of methodology, Chessa prioritizes enjoyment of music above all else. The cultivation of music appreciation for the younger generations is of paramount importance to its success and continuation. Chessa also finds music theory and technique to be just as important, (if not more so) than the exposure to different music genres. To know music’s structure is to know its essence, thus increasing proficiency and eliminating fear of the unknown.
Chessa plays all pianos including electric, upright, baby grand, and concert grand pianos.
